Lets talk about Spiritual Hygiene. Hygiene is the series of practices performed to preserve health. According to the WHO "Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of disease.”
Personal Hygiene refers to maintaining the body's cleanliness. So what is Spiritual Hygiene? Deah Curry taught
“Spiritual Hygiene is mindful attention to developing and sustaining a relationship with ourselves as spiritual beings.”
So let's break this down a bit. Hygiene is conscious acts we do daily to preserve our overall well being. So the term hygiene can be applied to different contexts. "Physical" hygiene could be in reference to our physical bodies, exercise, diet and environment. So spiritual hygiene would be how to preserve and maintain our emotional and mental well being. Examples of spiritual hygiene practices would be meditation, reading and journaling; expressing creativity and introspection. So in researching these broad definitions, in my perspective, a bridge of sorts could help to round out this concept of overall “hygiene” Energetic Hygiene? Science shows us that everything is energy, the fundamental blocks of matter. The Law of Conservation states that energy can be neither created nor destroyed, only converted; transformed. If everything is energy and can only be transformed then wouldn't everything leave an energetic fingerprint? We can use the comparison of our technology; Internet, Wifi, AI and algorithms, a network, constantly communicating consciously and unconsciously, sharing data and codes with all that is around us all the time. I visualize a spider web of connectivity or tiny threads of mycelium in a giant mycorrhizal (fungal) network. We all accept the common belief and basic science that we pick up, transfer and carry microscopic physical travelers with us throughout the day. Then continuing with the concept of energy the same belief can be applied to energetic travelers as well. Throughout recorded history within all cultures, religions and spiritual practices; cleansing and purification with water is a key commonality. However we format it in our minds, the act of using tools (soaps and fragrances for example) with the element of water to cleanse our bodies is deeply ingrained and innate in our consciousness as a necessary practice of positive health. As we scrub off the dirt and grime of the day through our personal hygiene practices, couldn't that same mentality and actions be applied to energetically cleansing to maintain and
enrich our complete overall hygiene? Thus the final conceptual aspect was downloaded and the creation of my products
began. All natural, handcrafted, personal hygiene products; intentionally crafted with powerful plant medicine that promotes healing organically, maintaining and enriching our bodies well being while ALSO being utilized as a tool to energetically align and spiritually cleanse. What began as time efficient effective tools in my own spiritual hygiene practice became one of my gifts that I am so excited to share. Below I’ve showcased each product in detail with my perspective, experience, retained knowledge, alchemy and intention behind each component that creates the magic in my creations.
Crown Care
Shampoo
My all natural Shampoo is formulated with natural surfactants which makes this shampoo incredibly effective in deep clarifying the scalp gently while maintaining your hair and scalp's natural oils. As someone with incredibly thick hair and a problematic scalp, I wanted to create a shampoo that not only heals and repairs organically but also leaves my hair feeling clean and soft. After testing out many "crunchy granola" DIY recipes, I discovered and learned about natural surfactants. Surfactant is shorthand for ‘surface active agent’ meaning they are active on the surface of the water, air, oil interface. Oil and water do not mix, right? So especially in the context of creating an effective cleansing product along with a texture we are all familiar with; that’s where surfactants become the crucial supporting role and help activate the magic. The surfactants create the shampoo texture we are familiar with allowing my shampoo and body wash to be more approachable. They create the ease of knowing how to use them and the comfort that the ingredients are completely natural and nonabrasive. No need to go the route of; soak in apple cider vinegar, dealing with the grungy no-poo situation, using egg whites, have to batch before every shower, chunky clumpy watery weird textures that don't bind hassle to have an all natural haircare routine. The Bay Leaf, Nettle, Calendula and Rosemary infused oils promote hair growth and clears up dandruff and buildup.The Rosemary infused oil promotes mental clarity both physiologically and spiritually. Calendula aka Marigolds, a sun plant, assists in prosperity, possibilities, confidence and respect and is incredibly healing for all different skin ailments. Hibiscus Flowers are packed full of amino acids and Vitamin C that combats dryness and stimulates Keratin production. The Hibiscus along with Calendula are commonly used in love spells and known for their magical properties associated with prophetic dreams, perception through illusion and divination. From Apollo to the oracle at Delphi to the Middle Ages, Bay leaf, Laurel, also has a pronounced history of use in divination, prophetic dreams and wish making. A common practice is to write a wish/desire on a Bay Leaf and burn it during rituals for quick manifestation. In the Middle Ages, Bay Leaves were used as protection wards in various ways. Last but definitely not least, we have the Stinging Nettle. Nettle is one of the oldest recorded remedies for hair loss. The high amount of sulphur and silica improves hair health by strengthening the hair shaft. Nettle has a long history of being a powerhouse in protection, cleansing and purification. Each of these curated herbal infused oils were chosen to heal and benefit in various aspects of scalp and hair health with a targeted focus in empowering the mind and psyche spiritually and energetically.
The Witches Hat Conditioner
The concept of The Witches Hat has a not so positive history and lore. The one definite theme of The Witches Hat throughout history is it was meant to draw attention, a point of attraction. In one era and culture, the conical hat represented an elevated position in society, distinction and spiritualism to later eras, western civilization, being a symbol of disgrace and disobedience. I named my conditioner "The Witches Hat" with a positive mindset. Protection, Attraction and Connection. The covering of your crown for psychic protection and the symbolism of a high point acting as a conduit of higher connection and empowerment. Each of the herb infused oils have powerful protection properties both magical and physical. Marshmallow Root, Calendula and Chamomile create grounding and a strong foundation. The combination of the three is highly effective in skin health. Marshmallow Root has a long standing history of a cure-all; from its use to treat and heal skin ailments, wounds and bites to gut health to coughs and colds. In the context of hair benefits, the most outstanding quality is its ability to keep hair well conditioned and moisturized. This quality is also ideal as a leave-in conditioner or detangler providing a large amount of "slip" especially great for naturally curly hair. Marshmallow Root is a phenomenal moisturizer which can be attributed to it being a water-loving perennial herb. This powerful herb provides mucilage, a gooey plant substance that creates a protective film, which is a polysaccharide packed full of protein and vitamins; reconstructive, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties as well. Like most herbs, the physical and metaphysical properties go hand in hand. Marshmallow root soothes ailments of discomfort and irritation, relieves pain and literally creates a protective barrier. Those same attributes are used metaphysically for protection and healing. Marshmallow Root, Calendula and Chamomile are all known for their soothing and calming benefits contributed by their anti-inflammatory properties. The magic in these anti-inflammatory and antioxidants is apigenins, flavonoids reported having effects on diabetes, amnesia, Alzheimer's, depression, insomnia, cancer, and more. Stinging Nettle is a powerhouse herb for hair and protection properties. The sting in the Nettle is a great physical representation of protecting yourself by creating boundaries/barriers around what yourself and what you value. Nettle is one of the oldest remedies for hair loss due to its rich content of sulphur and silica AND promotes regrowth. This incredible plant medicine has the properties of blocking the enzyme DTH that is the root cause of hair fall for humans. The last herb infused oil spotlighted in this conditioner is Passion Flower. Honestly, I'm obsessed with Passion Flower which I call by its Hawaiian name Lilikoi due to where we first met and I fell in love. Passion Flower has so many incredible health properties but let's stick to hair health. Maracuja Oil, its Amazonian name, has an abundance of linoleic acid, one of the essential fatty acids which plays a key role in supporting skin health. In fact, research has shown it contains 72.6 percent linoleic acid, which makes it one of the best sources of the essential fatty acid on the planet. What?! Some of Passion Flower’s lore is the flower being a representation of Christ’s love in Christianity. It has been recorded that a Spanish doctor by the name of Nicolas Monardes discovered the Passion Flower in Peru in 1569. The flower was used as a teaching tool by Spanish missionaries in the indoctrination of the indigenous people who saw the flower as a physical manifestation of the crucifixion of Christ. In the esoteric realm, the Passion Flower is used as a conductor, a point of attraction, to sharpen and attune to frequencies and energy all around you. This also translates in the physical medicinal realm by its benefits to the central nervous system and its positive effect on anxiety, ADHD and sleep. The Passion Flower has always been viewed in many different perspectives as a tool or channel of Higher Consciousness, connectivity, and an intentional ingredient as the last plant medicine in my Witches Hat.

Activation Scrub
Body Butter Sugar Scrub
The names a mouthful but perfectly descriptive. My body butter sugar scrub cleanses your body physically and energetically, exfoliates your pores and simultaneously creates a protective moisturizing barrier. This body butter sugar scrub is definitely the most “ritualistic” tool in my tool belt of personal spiritual hygiene products. The concept of being able to use daily hygiene products as intentional, approachable, energetically, cleansing tools was sparked through the creation of my scrub. Through developing my craft, I am always learning the crucial importance of being consciously aware of the influx of energy around me and through me. Protection, grounding and cleansing rituals became a huge part of my practice. The physical act of utilizing a scrub loaded with powerful cleansing and clearing plant energy has become a vital tool in my spiritual hygiene routine. My scrub can be intentionally used as a conduit to realign your energy. Each of the herbs incorporated in my scrub are found through numerous spiritual practices and cultures for purifying and cleansing. Hyssop is derived by the Greek word “hyssoppos” which means “holy herb”. This magical plant is mentioned over 20 times throughout the Bible. In Psalms, it is written, “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.” The plant is native to the Mediterranean region and has a long history of use in traditional medicine. Hyssop has a wide range of health benefits, including its ability to detoxify the body, exportant for coughs, boost immunity, improve circulation, and relieve pain. Due to its astringent properties, Hyssop reduces the sign of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. It also has natural cleansing properties that minimize pores' visibility making skin look smoother and softer. Burdock Root has also been found to reduce aging. Scientific studies found that an extract of natural Burdock Root significantly improved the metabolism of the dermal extracellular matrix which led to a visible wrinkle reduction. Burdock root's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial components also assists in healing eczema, acne, and psoriasis when applied topically. The combination of Burdock and Marshmallow Root also gives an extra punch if you have a problematic scalp. Both powerful root herbs assist in build up, dandruff and hair loss when applied directly to the scalp. Rue and Calendula finish up the powerhouse herbs with their complementary anti inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial medicinal properties. Rue can provide instant relief from itchy skin, repel insects, clear complexion along with free radicals. Rue also being a Mediterranean plant, was introduced to Europe through the Romans and was regarded as a prophylactic antidote against poison that goes back to Hippocrates and was upheld throughout the Renaissance. Burdock and Rue were and are regarded as powerful plants used in protection against negative energy. As a fitting bow on top, I incorporated the well known scent of the elixir, Florida Water. Florida Water gets its name from the lore that the Fountain of Life is in Florida. It is “cologne” commonly used in spiritual practices as a spray or additive to cleanse the energy of a space, person or object. I love the smell so I incorporate it throughout my daily practice. My version of “Florida Water” is a citrus base, sweet orange, bergamot and lemon with spicy notes like Lavender and Clove. The intention for my scrub is to be used as a conduit for powerful cleansing, protection and healing for your physical body as well as your energetic field.

Body Wash
While thinking of my partner and my 1 year old baby, I chose to formulate all my body washes to be PH balanced for both scalp and all over skin. Many commercial brand shampoos are not only loaded with chemicals and toxins but also incredibly high in acidity which dries out your skin and scalp. The natural PH balance for our scalps is lower than what we can handle throughout the rest of our body. When we use products with high acidity, we then get dry itchiness, flakes and dandruff and buildup. Even more so for those of us with sensitive problematic skin. My body wash hits that nice sweet spot that is gentle enough for our scalps yet still clarifying and cleansing for our whole body. How I utilize my body wash for my spiritual hygiene routine is applying after using the Ju Ju scrub. With intention, I use my scrub to cleanse off energy that does not align with mine and apply my body wash after with the intention of assisting in the protection of my energetic field and radiating prosperity. Calendula, Chamomile, Angelica Root and Marshmallow Root create a protective barrier both physical and spiritual. Angelica Root has been regarded since the Age of Antiquity as a “cure for every conceivable malady” in traditional medicine and associating it with divinity and of angelic nature because it tends to bloom around the day of Michael the Archangel. To radiate prosperity, I used the assistance of Arnica Flowers and Basil. Basil is used in association with money, wealth and abundance. The green color of a basil leaf like the color of money or better, the bright green of the Heart chakra, attracts wealth and abundance in any or all forms intended. Arnica Flowers were associated with bringing forth the abundance of crops during harvest time. Basil and Arnica Flower are great energies to help assist in allowing the fruits of your labor to come through. Arnica Flower is known for promoting healing for wounds and bruises through its topical application stimulating blood circulation. This property translates in internal healing of past wounds and trauma. Basil rejuvenates skin and eliminates free radicals. This combination can assist in letting go and allowing your essence, the feeling of an abundant harvest

Magic Mud
Detoxing Clay Balm
"You'll be fine. Just rub some dirt on it."
A saying we are all familiar with either spoken or heard. For me, it has definitely been one of those parental moments where
"and I sound just like my parents"
followed immediately afterwards lol. I took it literal and made some magic mudd. Utilizing my balm base, I went for one of the best natural detoxing ingredients that will be incredibly effective but not too harsh on the skin if needed often. With diaper rash as the initial focus, I looked into ingredients that would keep the area dry as well as absorbing toxins and bringing down extreme inflammation.
Bentonite Clay
Bentonite Clay is composed of ancient volcanic ash that has been exposed to salt water. This clay hails from the "smectite" group known for its ability to expand greatly when exposed to liquid. This combination means this clay absorbs and retains rich minerals such as silica, magnesium, calcium, sodium, copper, iron, and potassium. There is evidence that some of the earliest civilizations like ancient Mesopotamia used this clay to treat everything from aches and pains to infections and food poisoning. Studies have shown that Bentonite Clay due to its negative electric charge can help rid the body of heavy metals, chemicals, toxins, bacteria and free radicals because all of these things hold positive electric charges. A study in Arizona showed great potential for Bentonite Clay's antibacterial properties being used in treatments for MRSA after positive results with a variety of bacteria that is resistant and nonresistant to antibiotics. The herbs assisting in its magical healing abilities in this balm are Boneset and Angelica Root. I referred to Angelica Root in my body wash as a cure-all and a divine plant steward of protection. Both have been used in traditional medicine to accelerate healing in wounds. Boneset derived its name from use as a salve mixture for broken bones. Boneset stimulates blood circulation promoting faster healing and protection in both realms. Calendula, Chamomile and Marshmallow Root facilitate the stable foundation to assist both the divine Angelica Root and the stimulating Boneset healing properties to flourish. Along with my curated infused oils, this balm contains Tea Tree essential oil, Eucalyptus essential oil and Rosemary essential oil giving it more potent medicinal properties for healing. Rub Some Mudd On It can be used as a complete facial mud mask as well as a tool in your first aid kit.
Nuclear Balm
"Everything but the kitchen sink"
No, there isn't everything but the cauldron in this product but you can use this universal balm for just about everything. Whereas the mudd balm is intended for more intense ailments and injuries, this balm can be used the same way along with integrated in your daily skin routine. It is a deep moisturizer so best for moments of excessive dryness or in your nighttime skin routine. I wouldn't recommend using this before applying makeup. A little goes a long way as an all over body and facial balm including great as a lip balm. In my coconut base beauty balm, I chose to work with Orris Root and Vervain with the focused intent on self love with a feminine energy. Vervain has been regarded as a sacred "holy" plant throughout history and lore. Vervain has been revered like few others by ancient Egyptians, Greeks to Romans and Druids. Vervain is another powerful plant that is considered a universal remedy. On both realms, this plant's energy is assisting in the clearing of obstructions. Medicinally; coughs, colds, fevers, menstruation and pain relief. Its hemostatic property (to stop bleeding) can be linked to some Christian beliefs that Vervain was used to seal the wounds of Jesus giving its reference as "Sacred Grass" or the "Herb of the Cross". Greeks and Roman referred to it as "holy plant" or "sacred plant" using the branches to purify their altars and temples. Vervain was used in the form of a wand or a focused powerful conduit throughout many practices like Druidism. Vervain's nature is as a conductor and communicator plant that can clear obstructions and assist the flow of energy in the physical, spiritual and mental realms. Orris Root powder is derived from the beautiful Iris Flower bringing strong feminine energy throughout cultures and history. Queen Elizabeth Root is another name and has been associated with the Goddess Iris to Goddess Hera, Mary the Virgin and Eve. The Iris Flower is acknowledged for its distinct physical female body part resemblance and fittingly ruled by the Moon. There's no denying the female energy has always been felt from the spirit of the Iris. The Orris Root powder purifying property presents itself physically in skin health as having the ability to drain skin of impurities and leave the skin glowing and smooth. This plant is a great agent for skin discoloration and hyper-pigmentation. Orris Root is widely viewed to attract love to women. I chose Orris Root and Vervain as great energies to assist in Self Love. The intent of a maternal energy; pure, unconditional, unwavering love radiating warmth from you, growing within you, directed through your eyes to the beauty reflecting back at you.
